Isuzu Updates F-Series for 2022, Adds Class 7 Model

Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, announced the Cummins B6.7 diesel engine will now be featured in the new 2022 Isuzu F-Series trucks, for the U.S. and Canadian markets.

This is the first product to come to market globally from the Isuzu Cummins Powertrain Partnership (ICPP) between Isuzu Motors Limited and Cummins Inc., that was formed in 2019.

The 2022 F-Series will be available in two medium-duty models: the Class 6 FTR (25,950-pound GVWR), and the Class 7 FVR (33,000-pound GVWR).

Additionally, the lineup will include a de-rated Class 6 FVR. A total of eight wheelbases will be available for the FTR and FVR models.

The low-cab forward’s larger cab-to-axle space provides the Isuzu F-Series more cargo capacity versus conventional cab competitors with a comparable wheelbase, Isuzu officials said in a press release. This gives customers more versatility with their body application choices to accommodate heavier or more spacious cargo loads.

The FTR and FVR offer a 50-degree inner wheel cut that gives the Isuzu F-Series turning diameters between 43.7-foot (152-inch WB) and 65-foot (248-inch WB). Greater visibility is made possible by Isuzu’s low cab forward-designed cab and new LED headlamps, company officials said. The new interior design has dual-tone trim and enhanced seating.

The Cummins B6.7 is mated to an automatic 6-speed Allison RDS Transmission (2500 Series). With 260 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque, this is the highest horsepower and torque available from the Cummins B6.7.

This power increase in the Isuzu F-Series will easily move heavier payloads through today’s urban environments and over the road between distribution centers, according to the truckmaker.

What happened to Mack garbage trucks?

Do you remember when MACK was the Premiere name in the garbage truck industry? No one I mean no one could compete with MACK. They were the cream of the crop! What happened?? Nowadays they aren’t as reliable.. Is it their fault? Have they lost their touch?

NO! Here’s Why

MACK Garbage Trucks are changing as technology and emission standards change. CNG has caused several manufacturers to change the way they build their trucks. This has affected everyone in the industry and not one company is being singled out. We at RDK bring news to everyone who wishes to read about the good, the bad, and the ugly. The MACK garbage trucks have experienced a setback from their original reliability but are in no way losing their MOJO. They have quality-built trucks but because of the new sensors, temperature issues, and storing of CNG, many of the Mack garbage trucks have gone a little haywire. We have seen them improve gradually over the years and believe they are perfecting the Mack garbage trucks to work perfectly, but that day has not yet come.

WHEN AND WHAT THE HECK IS THAT

VOLVO has seen MACK garbage trucks’ problems and decided to build a garbage truck that runs on DME (dimethyl ether). It is a compound that burns cleaner and allows garbage trucks to run longer. They are also safer for the driver and the environment. The new energy source is not yet ramped up in the United States, but we will inform you when the switch is making some serious headway. The Mack garbage trucks are still some of our favorites. In fact, I have the famous Mack dog sitting here in my office as I type. The technology will catch up and one day MACK garbage trucks will be just as reliable as they were pre-Emission.

Why are Used refuse trucks best buy?

The Problem with buying NEW is you are going to pay a ton for a truck that will be in the shop within the next three months. The newer trucks have been experiencing problems ever since the switch to CNG. The technology and fuel source are not at the level they need to be at to pay such a substantial amount. USED Trucks are less costly and you get more BANG for your BUCK.

Pre-Emission

Before the emissions changed in 2008, Pre-Emission did not even exist. The used refuse trucks were just that, used. No one was interested in purchasing them unless they did not have the money for a new one. There was no inclination for someone to buy one because there were no emission problems. Pre-Emission now stands for the time before the CNG takeover. Going green has been all the craze in the past decade and we fully support it. If going green doesn’t put a hole through our wallets that is. We are all in this business to make money and saving the environment is important. That is why we here at RDK are researching diligently to find out how to do both.

Post-Emission

The Post-Emission era gave way to CNG. We experienced the problems, people are still fighting for it, and some of us have moved on to greener pastures. Volvo is one of them moving on. Volvo has gotten ahead of the curve and built refuse trucks that run on DME. This will eventually reach us in the United States. Currently, they have used refuse trucks running on DME in Europe. We have seen Dimethyl Ether in China as well. This new fuel source burns at a temperature that allows the trucks to safely run longer and harder while capturing more profits. This new fuel source, we believe, is the future and eventually, we will have new and used refuse trucks running off a cleaner energy source that will cost less money. We are not at liberty to say when but if you Subscribe below and join the RDK family we will gladly update you with any news we get.
